Downtown Portland - 2020
I don't live near downtown, but I enjoy spending time taking photos of this historical place. It is always changing and I get to see and meet all the different people that call this part of town home. I like how it's a city, but yet small enough that I can walk from one end to the other rather quickly. I enjoy soaking up the emotions that arise from this mixed society. It does make me depressed as I get to visit this part of town and then retreat back to my quiet suburban home. But I like feeling and witnessing what it's like for others who have to live with this and are fighting for a voice for those that cannot. I have made several trips downtown through out the years, but here are the most recent visits, both when coronavirus is in full swing. They are pre-protest from Easter and June 25th, one month after George Floyd died at the hands of police over a $20 bill.
