The Grouch & Murs Christmas Tour
Living Legends indeed. "The 12th and Final How The Grouch Stole Christmas" tour made a stop at Portland's Star Theater. It was a busy Saturday night in the City of Roses and the fans stayed true and packed the theater. It may have been cold outside, but the weather was warm and humid inside with the sounds of the islands and the bay. California natives and veteran hip hop icons, Murs and The Grouch swear that this is their last run of their signature winter tour. But they didn't retire without leaving the fans a joint album, Thees Handz, that is straight fire and filled with smart and articulate lyrics and each song has a clear message. Providing the beats for their headlining set was DJ Fresh, who is also featured on the album. Joining them for a few stops was Pure Powers, who also was the host of the night, DJ Marl Calone was on the ones and twos, with special guests, iamai from Hawaii and local hip-hop star, Onry Ozzborn, who just released a new album, Tantrum.
